Nueva Palmira roads between km 4 and km 5 of River Uruguay with capacity for 3 vessels anchored (1 for each Terminal).
Berth assignment: Priority is given normally according with vessel's arrival to Montevideo roads or Nueva Palmira roads (Whatever corresponds). However berthing priority is subject to decision of respective berth managers according availability of cargo and readiness of export documentation.
On arrival at Montevideo roads / Pilots Station two pilots will board the vessel. Pilots will assist the Vessel during the upstream navigation up to Nueva Palmira.
River passage estimated in about 14 hours. Draft at Martin Garcia Channel is 10,36m with river level 2 feet under keel.

There are two grain terminals available at Nueva Palmira Port: "Corporacion NAVIOS" and "T.G.U."

Ontur Terminal (External Pier)
Owned and operated by Ontur International. Includes a concrete Pier, 180m long and 1 Dolphin.

• Loading system: Two Mobile Belts on pier (This terminal is not designed for Grain). Trucks discharge directly to belts

• There is a cold storage of about 43.000 cbm capacity. Also, a wood pulp warehouse of 30.000 square meters has been built close to the terminal premises.

T.G.U TERMINAL (ANP North Pier)
South and North Piers are owned by the Government, North Section in temporary concession to Terminales Graneleras Uruguayas S.A. (T.G.U. private group). This is a shared pier of 370m long (South Part of pier used for discharge operations). Loading system: Two (2) grain elevators with one hydraulic shooter, the elevator shifts alongside by rail

IMPORTANT: IN ORDER TO BERTH IN THIS TERMINAL VESSEL MUST BE ANNOUNCED 5 DAYS PRIOR TO HER ARRIVAL TO MONTEVIDEO IF LAST PORT WAS OTHER THAN ANY SOUTHAMERICAN PORT. IF LAST PORT IS ANY SOUTHAMERICAN PORT MUST BE ANNOUNCED 3 DAYS PRIOR TO HER ARRIVAL.
Important: As this is a shared pier, berthing restrictions apply according to vessels LOA/size.

Navios Terminal North (Pier 1/North Section)

• Pier allocation 540m long
• Loading system: Three hydraulic telescopic spouts, though load two (2) at a time
• Loading rate (grain): 800 MT/h upto 1.200 MT/h (depends on cargo distribution on storage site and vessel particulars)
• Loading rate (by-products): 450-500 MT/h upto 1.000 MT/h (depends on cargo distribution on storage site and vessel particulars)

Navios Terminal North (Pier 4/South Section)
A new oceanic pier with 300 meters length and 14 meters beam was added, to operate either ores or grains. The draft alongside is 38ft at zero tide level (11,58m). The pier is equipped with one mobile shiploader that moves along the pier and is supplied by a new loading belt conveyor able to load 1.000 MT/hr for ore cargoes and 800 MT/hr in case of grain, soybean base. This pier is fitted to work simultaneously and independently from the existing one. The air draft restriction in this pier is 22,5m.
An additional pier for barges discharge is incorporated. This pier is equipped with two new cranes with grabs for discharging ores and/or grain. The grab capacity for ore purpose is 9cbm and the grain one is 21cbm.
Both cranes can work simultaneously with the same product and the estimated discharging rate is:
1.000 MT/hr for soybean and 1.500 MT/hr for iron ore.
The stock pile capacity is 700.000MT of iron ore.
The expansion includes a place to receive convoys with a capacity of 20 barges (Mississippi shape).

• This pier extension is powered by a new shipping line, nominal loading rate estimated for Iron Ore about 1.500MT/hr, Grain 1.000MT/hr on soyabean basis.
• Thie pier extension can operate simultaneously and independently with the existing one
• The ore storage yard admits a volume of 700,000MT of Iron Ore
• Quantities of Iron Ore to load to be determined by Draft Survey
